A Rap Attack worker in a helicopter spotted a mother bear and two cubs in the South Canoe trail area Thursday.

Members of the Shuswap Trail Alliance are reminding people using the area to be cautious and know what to do in case of an encounter with wildlife.

They are also recommending people not go alone into the area.

“Mommy is just trying to survive and protect her babies,” says a web statement from the group. “If there is an encounter, just give her space and back away.”
