"Local businesses should consider not leaving any amount of cash on the premises after closing," said RCMP Staff Sergeant Scott West.

Lee Pierrard a hair stylist at Destinations Hair and Spa, said that the hair salon had it's front window smashed and thieves broke into the cash register.

Al Boucher, the owner of Blue Canoe, said the thieves smashed the glass out of one of the bakery's side doors and entered the business, but were only able to make off with rolled change.

Boucher estimated that the break-in took place between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. when one of the bakers began his shift.

Boucher said this is the first time the store has been broken into in 10 years in business.

West said the RCMP's investigation is ongoing.
