The City of Salmon Arm and its CUPE Local 1908 workers have reached a four-year collective agreement.
The public service workers will see a 1.75 per cent increase the first year, a one per cent increase in January and July in the second and third years and a two per cent increase for the final year. It covers the period from Jan. 1, 2016 to Dec. 31, 2019. A joint news release states that what while the union received a wage increase, management gained some flexibility in work scheduling.
“Both parties felt this round of bargaining was respectful, has improved the relationship between union and management and are satisfied that the agreement is fair and equitable.”
