Just one more 48-hour mouse- clicking fest to go – maybe.

Salmon Arm continues to rocket up the ranks in the Kraft Hockeyville contest, now in the top four as announced Saturday, March 15 on CBC TV’s Hockey Night in Canada.

The Shaw Centre will receive a minimum of $50,000, the prize for third- and fourth-place winners.

Vying for the Canada West nomination along with Salmon Arm is Sylvan Lake, Alta., and for Canada East – Kingston, Nova Scotia and Central Bedeque, P.E.I.

Salmon Arm supporters, both near and far, once again took to their computers and phones Saturday night through Monday, sending in their votes for the Shaw Centre. Come Saturday, March 22, based on votes cast, the top two communities will be announced on Hockey Night in Canada.

Should Salmon Arm succeed, then comes another round of voting for the top two, one from the east and one from the west, stretching the 48 hours from March 22 to Monday, March 24. The second-place winner, announced April 5, will receive $100,000 for their arena, while the grand prize winner gets $100,000, the chance to host an NHL game, plus a CBC broadcast.
