Due to increased enrolment of students, additional classes have been added at four Shuswap elementary schools.
Additional divisions have been added to South Broadview, North Shuswap, North Canoe and Ranchero Elementary.
As well, additional blocks have been added to secondary schools in the North Okangan-Shuswap School District to accommodate a rise in student numbers.
The school district is also increasing educational assistant hours in classrooms due to an increase in the number of students needing special education services.
Some previously unused spaces in some local schools are also being re-opened to handle the new classrooms, which has required some additional custodial hours to deal with the re-opened spaces.
Enrolment numbers won’t be firmed up until later in September.
