Update: Highway 1 reopens following collision near Three Valley Gap

Reports suggest accident involved two semi trucks.

The Trans-Canada Highway has reopened after a crash near Three Valley Gap closed it for the late morning and early afternoon of Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Drive BC tweeted the accident occurred between the Griffin Lake avalanche gate and the Three Valley Gap avalanche gate. Reports on social media indicated the accident involved two semi trucks, one having spilled its load on the road.

Traffic was halted in both directions with no detour is available. Drive BC webcams in the area do not show significant congestion in the area following the reopening of the highway.
