Choosing one project or initiative is difficult. Every town has needs to be addressed. But for me, a very important project is the redesign and construction of the Salmon River bridge. Work has been done, but simply put: it needs to be wider, higher and straighter.
The project will require co-operation between the city, provincial ministries and local First Nations, and a need to satisfy the interests of adjacent landowners. This project is about safety, flood risk management and economic development. The next council needs to champion this project and finish a process started several years ago.
