Council drops question period until after municipal elections

If you were thinking of coming to ask questions during the question and answer period at the end of Salmon Arm council meetings, don’t bother.

City council voted Monday to suspend the question and answer period until after the Nov. 19 municipal election.

“It tends to become a soap box for people,” remarked Mayor Marty Bootsma.

Coun. Ken Jamieson was alone in opposing the move.
