The newly-sworn in directors had their first meeting on Nov. 15. One of the first orders of business was the election of a board chair and vice chair.

Martin, who was the previous board chair, was acclaimed to the role once more after none of the other directors were nominated to oppose her.

For the position of vice chair both Demenok and Caleb Moss who represents the City of Golden were nominated.

Moss, who had previously held the position of Vice Chair, told the board he felt he was the right man for the job because he thinks the board executive should have a balance between electoral area and municipal directors.

“I don’t think it should be divisive, I think it should be unified he said.”

Demenok appealed to his experience on boards including as chair of the Shuswap Watershed council.

Moss was elected by a secret ballot of the directors.
