Above, emergency personnel try to remove the driver from a mini-van that was heading up Fifth Street SE on Tuesday about 9 p.m. towards 10th Avenue SE. The van crossed over into the oncoming lane and then crashed into a tree on the wrong side of the street. The driver was transported to hospital by ambulance. Alcohol is suspected to have contributed to the crash.
