UPDATE Feb. 6:
Ruby Doo has been found!
The dog that went missing during a crash in Cherryville Wednesday was located by a community member.
"She was found by a guy named Steele behind the library," said Ruby's owner Robyn Jorgenson, whose husband was seriously injured in the crash. "She has a few cuts the vet in Lumby took care of. She’s just tired and really hungry now. She had a breakfast sandwich and kibble for breakfast. She gobbled it right up. She’s a tired pup for sure."

A concerning crash that has left one man with a broken back also lost a beloved four-legged friend.
Robyn Jorgenson says her husband was involved in a crash off Highway 6 near the Cherryville Library Wednesday around 12 p.m.
The vehicle left the road and landed down a 30-foot embankment, up against a tree.
According to BC Emergency Health Services (EHS), paramedics received a call about a motor vehicle incident in the 1100 block of Highway 6 in Cherryville.
"One ambulance with primary care paramedics responded to the scene," said paramedic public information officer Brian Twaites. "Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in stable condition."
Meanwhile the community is busy looking for Ruby Doo, the dog that was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
"She’s a mix, mastiff, lab, and Chesapeake Bay retriever," said Jorgenson. "A mutt but we love her so much."
The "large puppy" is wearing a red collar with a night light on it.
"Just had her first birthday, is black with a white mark on her chest, white paws, sweet face and she loves people."
Ruby Doo is scared of other dogs and has no winter coat so her owner is fearful she won't fare well in the cold.
