The lone occupant of a mini van was taken to hospital following a rock slide on Kault Hill on Saturday Nov. 19, just after 11 a.m

At approximately 12:50 p.m., DriveBC announced the closure of the east-bound lane of traffic.

The RCMP investigation of the collision revealed an eastbound semi truck maneuvered to avoid boulders, which had fallen from an adjacent rock face. The truck ended up facing the opposite direction and was then struck by a mini van travelling west.

According to the RCMP the occupant of the of the semi truck was not injured and the driver of the mini van's injuries are considered minor.

RCMP Traffic Services are continuing their investigation of the collision.

Traffic was backed up in both directions as the highway was reduced to alternating single lane traffic.

This slide comes two weeks after a previous slide on Kault Hill closed the pull out lane along the highway.

More information will be presented as it becomes available.

Note: The original version of this article stated the mini van was travelling east and the semi truck was travelling west. We now know this is incorrect and apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
