RCMP are recommending several criminal charges after a road check turned up a large quantity of industrial wire and some drugs.
On May 22 at 9 p.m., police were conducting a road check on the Trans-Canada Highway near Canoe and stopped a vehicle with two men and one woman inside.
The occupants were from Alberta and subsequent police checks revealed that both men had outstanding warrants of arrest from Alberta. A search of the vehicle revealed a significant amount of industrial wiring and some drugs.
Further checks confirmed the wiring had been stolen from a hardware store in Camrose, Alberta.
Both men were arrested and the woman was transported to a woman’s shelter.
One of the men was later released on court documents while the other man was held in custody to appear in a provincial court before a judge.
