The Salmon Arm Fire Department responded to a chimney fire at a house on 28 Ave NE at approximately 6 p.m. on Nov. 1
Karin Burrell and Angela Rundle were driving by when they noticed smoke pouring out of the chimney.They pullover and alerted the homeowner. "There was a lot of heavy smoke and then 10 minutes later there were flames. It was frightening," said Burrell.
Three fire trucks responded to the scene. firefighters used heavy metal chains to clear some of the creosote build up, which caused the fire.
