As of 8 a.m. Friday the highway was re-opened after a mudslide closed it down Thursday night.

The Trans-Canada Highway was shut down in both directions eight kilometres east of Canoe, after significant rainfalls contributed to the slide.

Crews worked through the night to clear the debris and repair hydro lines.

Power was out in the Sicamous area for a few hours due to the slide.
