Highway resurfacing work done

Users of the Trans-Canada Highway near Salmon Arm and Highway 97A near Enderby are benefiting from a resurfacing project

Users of the Trans-Canada Highway near Salmon Arm and Highway 97A near Enderby are benefiting from a resurfacing project to improve the safety and efficiency of the roadways.

The contract, which was awarded to  Dawson Construction Limited in the amount of $750,000, is now complete.

The improvement project included the resurfacing and paving of miscellaneous sections along the two well-used highways.

“Our local highways are essential pieces of infrastructure to our communities and our regional economy,” said Shuswap MLA Greg Kyllo.

“This investment is a commitment by our provincial government to strengthen our regional infrastructure and provide safer driving conditions for the travelling public as well as commercial users,” he added.

The resurfacing project is part of B.C. on the Move, the B.C. government’s 10-year transportation plan to improve the province’s transportation network.
