Motorists are warned of icy conditions on local roads and highways.

A Nissan Titan went off Highway 97 at Okanagan College around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday.

The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was heading northbound when the vehicle hit a patch of ice, losing control and ended up in the ditch, near the college parking lot.

The driver was not injured as a result of the collision and there were no other passengers on board at the time.

“The road conditions at the time of the incident were very icy,” says Cst. Kelly Brett.

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP are reminding motorists to slow down when the road conditions are poor and be prepared for the weather driving conditions.
