Local woman dies in vehicle roll-over

A Chase woman died in a single vehicle crash near Pritchard Saturday.

A Chase woman died in a single vehicle crash near Pritchard Saturday.

About 3 p.m. on Dec. 6, Chase RCMP responded to a single-vehicle roll-over collision on Kamloops Shuswap Road, approximately five kilometres west of Pritchard.

The vehicle was travelling west, and veered off the roadway to the left and down a steep embankment. There were three occupants in the vehicle at the time of the collision.

The driver and one passenger were taken to Royal Inland Hospital  in Kamloops with non-life-threatening injuries.

The third occupant, 39-year-old Sheila Ignace from Chase, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Road conditions at the time included a gravel road surface with compact snow and icy sections. The incident remains under investigation.
