Timber harvesting is planned for areas of Mount Ida.

Stuart Parker of Stuart Parker Forest Consulting wrote to Salmon Arm city council, informing them that the Adams Lake Indian Band plans to harvest timber killed by the mountain pine beetle. Seven cut blocks totaling 70 hectares, outside of city limits, will be harvested.

“I am informing you of these plans as they may have some bearing on your plans for managing wildfires in the community/Crown land interface,” Parker wrote.
