Literacy Alliance of the Shuswap Society outreach co-ordinator Darcy Calkins stands next to one of the organization’s Little Free Libraries. Proposed to take the place of the Spread the Word book exchange bins, LASS would like to set up one of the free-stranding structures at select locations throughout the community. To do this, they are reaching out for sponsors to cover the cost of about 15 of the structures (for about $500 apiece). LASS will see to it that each is stocked with books for the public to borrow and/or exchange.
