Request to assist leads to arrest

Police were called to assist paramedics at the scene of a drug overdose in the White Lake area

Lending a hand paid off for RCMP Friday, Oct. 14. Police were called to assist paramedics at the scene of a drug overdose in the White Lake area about 7 p.m. While on scene, they found a marijuana grow operation and seized 867 plants and associated equipment. A man with previous drug convictions, was arrested at the scene and faces criminal charges.

Stolen items

A 19-year-old Salmon Arm man faces driving charges following an Oct. 12 incident.

RCMP responded to a report of an intoxicated driver, locating the vehicle on the Trans Canada near 11th Avenue NE. The driver stopped for police, before speeding away and losing control of the vehicle.

The occupants were apprehended and the driver arrested following a short foot chase. A vehicle search revealed items associated to an earlier theft. The theft is under investigation.
