Robber targets credit union

Employees at Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union are assisting police in their investigation of an incident at the downtown branch.

The downtown branch of Salmon Arm Savings and Credit Union was the site of a robbery or attempted robbery Monday.

A news release issued by SASCU states that credit union officials are meeting with police to assist in the investigation.

"SASCU has a contingency plan in place to deal with these types of events and SASCU managers credit staff with keeping people calm and protected. No staff or members were harmed during the incident and at no time were member funds or the integrity of their personal or financial records in jeopardy," states the release.

Details will follow as they become available.

SASCU's downtown branch will be open for business as usual at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 28.
