Salmon Arm Crown Counsel Gregory Koturbash will no longer be presenting a case before a judge — he will be one himself.

Koturbash was appointed as a new Provincial Court Judge to serve in Penticton effective Feb. 14.

Koturbash began his career in Saskatchewan as a prosecutor, and since 2005 he has been administrative Crown counsel in Salmon Arm.

He recently released a legal guide to assist police and prosecutors with impaired driving investigations.

The government has appointed nine new Provincial Court judges in regions around the province to further address caseload pressures on B.C.’s courts and improve access to the justice system.
