Car fire on the highway causes traffic woes

Salmon Arm Firefighters observe the smoking remains of a car which caught on fire Wednesday, Aug. 24 in the 6800 block of 70th St. SW. The driver had turned a corner and realized the car was losing power. When he pulled over and opened the hood, he discovered the engine was in flames. The fire department responded and, using spray foam, they were quickly able to extinguish the blaze.  Due to the damage, firefighters were unable to determine exactly what started the fire. The car was a complete write-off, but no one was injured.
