The new SmartCentres shopping centre at the west end of Salmon Arm may be opening earlier than projected.
Although a spring 2013 opening was predicted by SmartCentres officials last year, the new date appears to be Nov. 1 of this year.
At the March 14 meeting of the Downtown Salmon Arm board meeting it was mentioned that the RFP (request for proposal) for the servicing and buildings on the property makes note of a Nov. 1 opening date. Work is expected to begin in April.
