Four years to the day that Tyler Myers was killed, a third person has been arrested in connection with his murder.

Police report that a 21-year-old man from Salmon Arm is facing a charge of obstruction of justice. His name has not been released.

Myers, then 22, died of a gunshot wound on the evening of Nov. 21, 2008, his body discovered by a passerby about 7:30 p.m. on a trail on the grounds of Bastion Elementary School.

On Nov. 5 of this year, police arrested a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both who were under 18 years at the time of the murder so can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Both are residents of Salmon Arm and both have been charged with first-degree murder.

Insp. Gary Shinkaruk, with the E Division Major Crime Unit, said more charges may be laid as the investigation continues.

"It's possible there are going to be more charges coming once we iron out all the facts," he told the Observer.
