King’s Christian tops elementary schools in the Shuswap in overall academic performance, according to the latest rating from the Fraser Institute.

The latest figure out today puts King’s Christian at an 8.1 rating and 103 out of 875 schools. The previous five-year trend for the private school was a 7.2 out of 10 rating and 188th out of 751 schools

Other North Okanagan Shuswap Schools showing improvement over the previous five-year trend include South Broadview, Hillcrest, and MV Beattie in Enderby. 

Showing declines were Parkview Elementary in Sicamous, which dropped from 4.5 to 2.9, and Sorrento, which went from 6 to 5.5.

There were no previous five-year trends available for Carlin, which came in with a 4.5 rating, Bastion which had a 5.6 rating, or Ranchero, which was in the top third of schools in the province, with a rating this time around of 6.8 and 261st out of 875 schools.
