Tractor-trailer unit hits ditch

Police report that transport truck driver suffered minor injuries.

On April 17 at 5:04 p.m., Chase RCMP received a report of a tractor truck and trailer rolled over into the ditch on the Trans-Canada Highway near Francois Road. Investigation determined that an eastbound car had come to a stop, awaiting westbound traffic to pass, to complete a left-hand turn from the highway. The eastbound truck, unable to stop in time, attempted to avoid hitting the car by driving onto the shoulder. The trailer entered the ditch, rolling onto its side causing the tractor unit to roll as well. The driver of the truck was treated at the scene by for minor injuries.

Chopped cords

On April 9, Chase RCMP received a report of mischief at the vehicle charging station on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Chase. Sometime during the night suspects chopped the charging cords.

Mischief

On April 8, Chase RCMP received a report of mischief to the Canada Post mailboxes located at the intersection of Squilax Anglemont Road and Mabry Road in Lee Creek. Several boxes had been opened with damage to others.

Impaired

On March 31 at approximately 1 a.m., Chase RCMP officers on patrol observed a vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign on Shuswap Avenue in Chase. A traffic stop was conducted. A 31-year-old woman was found to be driving while impaired by alcohol after failing a roadside screening test. She was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Tools taken

On March 28, Chase RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a shop on Lower Duck Range Road in Pritchard. Several tools and other items were reported stolen.
