UPDATED:

"The pullout is currently closed to traffic until ministry geotechnical engineers have reviewed the site and deemed it safe to remove the material and open the pullout.

Due to the size of some of the boulders, typical excavation methods will not work and staff are determining options to reduce the size of these boulders so they can be hauled off site.

The proximity of the highway and adjacent power lines adds to the complexity of this work.

We are unable to confirm when this site will be open at this time but the ministry is working diligently to open the site as soon as possible," said a Ministry of Transportation spokesperson.
