RCMP are looking for the public's assistance following vandalism at both campuses of Salmon Arm Secondary.

Police report that in the early morning hours of June 6,  a person reported to police that the Jackson campus had been subjected to several random acts of vandalism.

In one potentially dangerous act, culprit(s) pulled a chain link gate from its hinge pins at the sports field and threw it on the street adjacent to the property near Shuswap Lake General Hospital.

"Thankfully there was no damage to passing vehicles or collisions caused by the gate being thrown into the street," said Staff Sgt. Scott West.

The unknown culprit(s) also pulled plants from their planters in front of the school and had strewn them about.

In another incident, this time at the Sullivan campus, an unknown culprit or culprits spray-painted vulgar graffiti on the outer windows and walls of the school.

"We have no evidence to suggest that the vandalism at the Jackson Campus is related," said West.

Anyone with information regarding these events is asked to call the Salmon Arm RCMP at 250-832 6044 or leave an anonymous tip at Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
