Chase RCMP are cautioning outdoor adventurers after two young women were lost recently near Adams Lake Provincial Park.

Police report that on Sunday, April 16 about 8:45 p.m., officers received a report of two women lost near the park. The two 21 year olds went with a group of people for a drive into the logging roads west of the park.

After a while the two women got out of the vehicle and were subsequently left behind by the group.

When the group returned to the park, friends of the young women became concerned for their safety and called police. Police, Kamloops RCMP Police Dog Services and Search and Rescue responded.

Police located one of the women who had separated from her friend. Then a local resident, upon hearing of the problem assisted in the search and located the second young woman. BC Ambulance Services responded and ensured they were in good health.

Chase RCMP caution against leaving people in unknown wooded areas. If people from your party get separated and don’t return, you’re asked to call police immediately and remain on scene or nearby because information you can provide will assist in locating the missing people.

If you are lost, remain as a group and do not separate from others. This will make it easier to find you and will help keep you safe.
