A Application for a Waste Discharge Permit under the provisions of the Environmental Management Act
Interfor Corporation – Adams Lake Division, intends to submit an application to the Director to authorize the discharge of effluent from the Adams Lake Sawmill. The source(s) of discharge are Outfall 1, Outfall 2, Outfall 3, Outfall 4 and Outfall 5, containing effluent from stormwater runoff into Adams Lake.
The land upon which the facility is situated, and the discharge will occur from is the Adams Lake Sawmill, located at 9200 Holding Road, Chase, BC V0E 1M2, within the Adams Lake area.
The maximum rate of effluent discharged from this facility will fluctuate seasonally based on precipitation amounts. The operating period for this facility will be 16 hours a day, 5 days a week. The characteristics of the effluent will be consistent with typical stormwater runoff. The stormwater treatment includes the use of oil-water-separators and filtration through biochar media.
Any person who may be adversely affected by the proposed discharge of effluent and wishes to provide relevant information may, within 30 days after the last date of posting, publishing, service or display, send written comments to the applicant, with a copy to the Director, Environmental Protection at ENV email address options below. The identity of any respondents and the contents of anything submitted in relation to this application will become part of the public record.
