Adrian Romyn passed away peacefully at Shuswap Lake General Hospital on January 27, 2009 at the age of 85 years.

The funeral service was held from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Salmon Arm, on Friday, January 30, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. with Father George La Grange, OMI, as the Celebrant.  The eulogy was read by Adrian’s daughter, Anne Doidge.  Music was provided by Catherine Kroetch.  Cremation followed, and the interment will take place at a later date in the family plot at Notch Hill Cemetery.

Adrian was born in Noordwijkerhout, Holland on October 21, 1923.  Adrian and Margaret moved to Vernon in 1952, and then to Salmon Arm in 1957.  They moved to Notch Hill in 1960, where they farmed for 35 years.  Adrian was also a millworker at local lumber mills.  Adrian and Margaret moved to the Shuswap Lodge Retirement Residence in 2005.

Adrian is predeceased by brothers and sisters, Nell, Henk, Annie and Pete and also, son-in-law, George Douglas.  He is survived by his wife, Margaret at the Shuswap Lodge; children, Anne Doidge of Edmonton, AB, Adrian (Marianne) of Notch Hill, John of Edmonton, Jack (Laura) of Salmon Arm, Tina Douglas of Sicamous, Lola (Gary) Cochrane of Calgary, AB; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters living in Holland, Kees, Nely, Ria, Jan, Rika and Jo.
