Alice Isabel Eliason passed away in Hillside Village, Salmon Arm, on Tuesday evening, February 7, 2012 at the age of 92 years.
The funeral service was held from the Senior Centre on 5th ave. S.E. Salmon Arm, on Saturday afternoon, February 11th at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bill Kiesman officiating. The eulogy was shared by Joy Eliason.
Interment followed in the family plot at Mt. Ida Cemetery, Salmon Arm.
Pallbearers were: Chad, Wade, Jade and Darin Eliason, Trevor Schikowski, Rick Zappone and Len Dubois.
Born in Russell, Manitoba on October 31, 1919, Alice has been an active resident of Salmon Arm since 1947. Being the mother of a large family kept her active in the community. She has resided at Hillside since December of 2010.
Predeceased by baby son in Saskatchewan, John; son, Ron in 1977, and husband, John in 1981, and her good friend, Herman Knorr in 2011.
Alice leaves her 5 daughters and 5 sons, Shirley Dawdy, Gayle Currie and Connie (Bernard) Schikowski of Salmon Arm, Laverne (Ray) Dubois of Sicamous, Ruby (Ed) Zappone of Quesnel, James (Eleanor), Jack (Linda), Cliff (Joy) of Salmon Arm, Vernon (Sherry) of Duncan, and Lorne (Sherry) of Nanaimo; Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; as well her brother, Frank Smith of Big River, Saskatchewan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
