The family of Alice Pauline “Paula” Hutchinson wishes to announce her passing at Bastion Place on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009.

She was born in Carnduff, Saskatchewan, August 8, 1921, to William Nathaniel Reed and Marion McVicer (Slade) Reed. She and her two youngster sisters, Florence and Louise, along with her parents, moved to B.C. during the depression of the 30’s and started a farm at the coast.

In time Paula met and married John Edward Hutchinson of Port Moody.

She had various careers in her lifetime: tree planter, cook at RapAttack, and a Salmon Arm Fair volunteer for several years to name just a few.

She enjoyed socializing with her friends, dancing, piano playing and was a good games player. She loved to travel and has seen many of the states with California and South Carolina being among her favourites.

She is survived by two children: Bruce Edward Hutchinson (Carol) of Salmon Arm and daughter Carole Gail (Hutchinson) Revis, of Chase, B.C., as well as her two sisters Florence (Lester) Pineo of Salmon Arm and Louise Walkosky also of Salmon Arm. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Laurie Ryley, Lisa Kasper, Linda (Steve) Cameron, and Michael (Lisa) Hutchinson, LaVonne (Scott) Boyd, along with six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

We know each of you will have your own unique memory of Paula that will make you think of her fondly.

Paula was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years and attended the Salmon Arm Kingdom Hall.

There will be no public memorial by request. Services are being handled privately and by Fischer’s Funeral Services.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Bastion for their kind spirit, who lovingly cared for our mother.

The many kind condolences we have received are very much appreciated.
