ENNIS, Allen Ivens “Al” passed away in Bastion Place at Salmon Arm, BC on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at the age of 81 years.

Al was born at Salmon Arm, BC on July 1, 1929. He had been a lifetime resident of the Revelstoke, Salmon Arm and Shuswap areas. He had a 35 year career with CPR starting in the steam era and retiring in the diesel era. During his retirement Al worked with his wife, Sybil, as dispatchers for the Salmon Arm Fire Department. He also enjoyed many hours of doing leather work, riding with his daughter in her logging truck and attending music concerts his son conducted or performed in. He was very proud of his family.

Al was predeceased by his wife, Sybil and grandson, George Wesley. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Arlene (Doug) Channell of Salmon Arm and Don (Barb) Ennis of Canoe; grandchildren, Alan Channell, Michael Ennis and Brian Ennis and great-grandchild, Joshua Alan Freeman. Also surviving are his brother, Ron Ennis and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no formal service by Al’s request.

Thanks to Dr. Skubiak, Salmon Arm Out-patient lab techs, home care aids, and special thanks to the staff at Bastion Place who helped make his last days comfortable.
