In loving memory ~
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Andrew Murray Campbell. Murray was a longtime resident of the Salmon Arm area. Early in his career he worked for the forest service where he lived in various parts of the province. Later he moved back to Silver Creek, building his farm and family along the Salmon River. In addition to farming, he spent many years in the logging industry and frequently bought and sold properties. In his 70s he purchased and ran a motel in Bella Coola because, as he explained, "he had never owned a motel before". A true optimist, he planted an orchard in his early 80s when he returned to Salmon Arm. His true passion in life was watching things grow, whether it was the cattle during his farming days or his garden and orchard in his later years. His love of nature resulted in many fantastic stories about encounters with bears, cougars and wolves. Predeceased by his wife Marlene he will be sorely missed by his four children, Heather, Cheryl, Daryl and Michelle as well as his eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also, by his dear friend Arlene Morgan who was a true and caring companion to him for almost 20 years and by his many friends. He is known by many for his big smile, kind demeanor, positive attitude and great stories. In memory of him please pass on a big smile to the people around you. Murray passed away peacefully at home in his bed on January 30th, 2022.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring. If you would like to attend, please email celebratemurray@gmail.com
