It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene. Arlene was pre-deceased by her parents Orville and Edith Fraser and her brother Trevor.
She is survived by her loving husband Bert, son Brad (Cathy) of Vancouver, daughter Tara (Tim Gallant) of Salmon Arm, son Todd (Gidget) of Edmonton, son Scott (Linda) of Kingston, ON. Nine Grandchildren, three Great Grandchildren, her brother Wayne Fraser (Vancouver) and several nieces and nephews.
Arlene was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she married Bert August 1957 and moved to Calgary, AB at the end of 1958. Soon the attraction of the mountains led to downhill skiing and 30 years of enjoyment followed. In 1966 they moved to Edmonton, where family camping, hiking and ski trips became the way of life.
Arlene had many hobbies that she enjoyed, sewing, designing and making clothes, quilting and playing her keyboard. She worked for Alberta Social Services, then onto the Bay working for the fashion buyers and then started her own successful fashion business.
Arlene and Bert retired together in 1996 to enjoy motor-homing, the mountains and warmer winter spots.
In 1998 they moved to Canmore, AB. Here Arlene began a self taught painting hobby and her many paintings are distributed amongst all the family. Hiking and X country skiing was at their door step.
In December 2006 they moved to Salmon Arm, where they had great pleasure playing duplicate bridge.
Arlene dealt with her cancer bravely to the very end and she will be sorely missed.
A family celebration of her Life will take place in Canmore, AB.
In lieu of flowers the family would sincerely suggest instead, a donation to "The Shuswap Community Foundation" or any charity of your choice.
