Barbara Helen Brown passed away in Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the age of 69 years.
A celebration of life service was held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, on Sunday afternoon, January 10th at 1 p.m. with Jack Bowers the celebrant.
Born in Wisconsin, USA on May 27, 1940. Barbara was raised in Santa Barbara, California. She moved from Washington to Shuswap Lake Estates, Blind Bay 10 years ago. She is well remembered for her love of the outdoors, which included years of travel, hiking and rock collecting.
Predeceased by her best friend, Phyllis of Winnipeg, her special companion, German Shepherd Samantha. Barbara is survived by two children, Marcie Beamer of Turtle Valley, son, Greg Beamer of Tappen, grandchildren Crystal Rose Beamer, Justin Ryan Nabb Beamer, Skylar Haze Borden, Kodey Daniel Herbert; her brother David Brown of Oregon, as well aunts, uncles and cousins living in the United States.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation, Shuswap Lake Hospital Foundation or to the SPCA.
