March 24, 1951 - October 29, 2020
We are very sad to say goodbye to our beloved Barrie Lee Wagner on October 29, 2020 in Revelstoke.
Barrie was born in Salmon Arm, BC on March 24, 1951 to Arthur and Elsie Wagner.
Barrie is survived by his wife Marian, their children Jordan (Spela) and Alana (Alex), his mother Elsie, siblings Randy (Wendy) and Cindy (Sherwood) of Salmon Arm; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by father Arthur Wagner. He will be sorely missed by all.
Prior to coming to Revelstoke in 1977, Barrie and his BCIT classmate Dave, went to Mexico and on a plane for 1st time, that was quite a feat. Barrie spent his whole career in the forest industry and over 35 years with Downie Street Sawmills. He met and worked with many people throughout his life and he developed many strong friendships. Barrie was a quiet, unassuming man who could gain rapport with just about everyone.
The Shuswap was Barrie's favourite place to be with family and friends. He enjoyed cruising the lake with his family, friends and puppies, watching over the beaches and liveliness of the lake. Barrie took joy working on group projects with his friends and neighbours, and then afterwards socializing and sharing stories on the dock while the waves rocked peacefully into the evening.
Always an outdoor person, Barrie loved walking, snowshoeing and hikes with family, friends and the dogs, snowmobiling on the pristine mountain tops and gallivanting here and there throughout BC on adventures. Barrie visited many tropical places as well, but it was really to please his family as he really did not like to fly.
He was the most kind and devoted person in our lives, always there for everyone anytime.
Our peace lies in that he knew he was cherished and that our love will give him courage and strength to navigate this next journey.
We will always love you and your love for us will help us survive and make us stronger, challenge us to make you proud of your influence on us all to be the best we can.
A Celebration of Life is planned for spring 2021.
