In loving memory ~

Betty Joan Ross passed away peacefully In Edmonton, AB on February 5, 2025. She was the eldest daughter of Alice and Al Ross and a beloved sister to Kathryn Spence and David Ross. Betty was a supportive mother to Lindsey Monderman and Laura Burke, and a loving Grandma/Grammy to Avery Paige and Lachlan Roy.

Betty's passion for basketball began at the University of British Columbia, where she played as a Thunderette and later represented Canada in international competitions. Her contributions to the sport were recognized with her induction into the BC Basketball Hall of Fame and the BC Sports Hall of Fame.

Professionally, Betty pursued a Bachelor of Education, leading to a successful career in teaching at South Broadview Elementary. She was a dedicated member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Salmon Arm Cookie Cartel.

Betty's love for travel took her on many adventures with family and friends, creating cherished memories. She was known for her love of shoes, purses, books, sports, and lifelong learning. Her values of commitment, perseverance, family connection, dry humor, and kindness were the cornerstones of her legacy.

Betty's craftsmanship in knitting, sewing, and crafting brought joy to her family and friends. As a grandmother, she treasured moments spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories.

Betty Joan Ross will be remembered for her accomplishments in basketball and education, and for the love and support she shared with all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
