It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Brenda Joy Williams of Blind Bay, BC. Brenda
was born December 18, 1957 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and passed away at her home on March 19, 2016 at the young age of 58. On that day our family lost the most wonderful woman in the world. She fought a strong, courageous fight with cancer making it home from the hospital so she could pass on in the arms of her husband and sons by her side as she had desired. She is at peace now, and for that we are all grateful.
Brenda was a loving wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend, but above all she was a pillar in our family, always showing unconditional love and support. She taught us what real caring is and illustrated what true courage should be. We may be lost for a while without her, but we will rebound knowing she is with us in spirit. Her only fear was being forgotten, but Brenda’s character, attitude and positivity touched all those who knew her and will live on through her family.
Brenda was predeceased by her parents. She is survived and deeply missed by her loving husband of 37 years David Llewellyn Williams, her sons; Derek (Mandy) Williams and granddaughters Rayne and Samiah, Dwight (Natasha) Williams, Shaun Williams and granddaughter Abby. She is also survived by her sisters Carol (Ray) Fox, Bev (Kelly) Kennedy, Joan (Ken) Cooper, Lorraine (Stewart) Deitsch and brothers Jim (Raylene) Norris, Robert (Sam) Norris and as well as countless other family members and friends.
Our family is thankful for the love and support received. We would especially like to thank Brenda’s sister Bev Kennedy and Brenda’s sister- in-law Donna Schaefer for caring of Brenda in her final days and support they provided the family when it was needed most.
Brenda’s family would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital, with special thanks to Dr Skubiak, Dr McKee and Dr. Main who did their all to provide the precious extra time with family and the opportunity to pass on in the comfort of her own home as she wished. You are all amazing.
Our love for Brenda is everlasting and we were all very fortunate to have her in our lives. She will be missed dearly.
