Brent Carter Smith

March 12, 1953 - June 12, 2024

In Loving Memory ~

We are very sad to announce that our big brother, Brent Carter Smith ascended to another world on June 12th, 2024. We hope there he finds all that he cherished here on earth: fields and forests to explore, sun dappled mountain trails to hike, streams, rivers, and lakes to cross, to swim, and to ski on.

With his guitar, music, and love of the outdoors as priorities, Brent's strong work ethic allowed him to live simply. He was a magician and Macgyver for the ages, using his hands, mind, and sometimes body, to fix things.

Brent had an eclectic and expansive understanding of the world, a bold social conscience, and while he lived frugally, he was incredibly generous with both material gifts and of his time and consideration of others. He had little but gave a lot in big, thoughtful, intuitive ways. Along with a love of dogs, his generosity and kindness were his true currency and legacy.

Brent is survived by his sisters Tara (Greg) and Beverly, brother Maynard, niece Katie (Jordan), nephew Jared (Bailey), grandniece Isla, and beloved friends Molly, Spit, and Luna.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 10th at 4pm at the Salmon Arm Legion, Branch #62, 150 Lakeshore Drive Northwest, Salmon Arm.
