In loving memory ~
Bruce Gordon Halverson left us peacefully on a beautiful sunny day, Thursday, February 6, 2025.
Survived by his wife Shelly, sons Tanner Halverson, Steen Halverson (Ashley), Beau Marriott (Jill) and daughter Braidy Marriott Schonheiter. He will forever be missed by sisters Lisa Honcoop (Ben), Gayle Johnson (Chris), four grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and longtime cherished friends.
In his younger years Bruce was very active in soccer, softball, scuba diving, and drag racing with the Shuswap Quarter Milers. He was an artist, painting various mountain and forest scenes. He obtained his Pilot's license in 1981 and became part owner of a 1946 Stinson with his longtime buddy Bruce Cannon. In 1984 while working as a Salesman at Salmon Arm GM he sold a vehicle to Shelly Dietz. Their story began soon after and in 1988 they married. Tanner was born in 1990 and Steen in 1992. Bruce enjoyed his career in the sales industry, moving on to Northern Plastics, Salmon Arm Honda, most recently Industrial Sales with Valid Manufacturing Ltd.
Bruce was an active Director with the Arena Society, a garage sale professional, a friend of all animals, a man of selfless generosity, the heartbeat of every room, the light in the dark and the warmth in every hug, and the most amazing dance partner.
His favorite place to spend time with Shelly, their children and many friends was Sandy Point Beach Campground... Boating, fishing, skiing and endless happy hour barbeques were some of the most memorable 29 years. They also travelled to many places in the world, the most favorite being Costa Rica with longtime friends.
Over the years he was the recipient of many nicknames, but the most fitting one was Bruce Almighty.
His last words before leaving us were, some people don't get to say goodbye, see you down the road...
