Captain Rob Wyatt Huband

November 13, 2018

April 3, 1938 - November 13, 2018
Rob Huband of Eagle Bay passed away peacefully on November 13, 2018 at the age of 80 in the Salmon Arm hospital with his loving companion Bunny at his side.

Rob was predeceased by his mother, father and brother Roy. He is survived by son Garth (Diane) of Medicine Hat, Alberta, grandchildren Matthew Huband and Meagan Huband, daughter Cindy Adams (Bill) of Kelowna, granddaughters Amanda Adams and Karlee Schwede, great granddaughter Emma Schwede and by sisters Joan and Judy.

Rob spent his entire life in British Columbia. He was born in Princeton on April 3, 1938 and raised in the Shuswap area. As a young man Rob lived in the Lower Mainland and during this time Rob worked as a tugboat Captain. In the early 1970's Rob moved his family to the Adams Lake for a simpler life. During this time, he worked many different aspects of the logging industry. Rob could build anything, and do anything he put his hand to. He built boats, boat trailers, houses and docks. He also built and operated a pile driver. You could guarantee anything that he built was strong enough to last forever which earned him the nickname Heavy Duty Huband. He was an accomplished farmer in Notch Hill.

In his retirement Rob enjoyed many hours fishing on the ocean and at his beloved Shuswap Lake. Rob loved a good game of cards and dice. He loved to garden and to go dancing. He always enjoyed a good drink.

Many thanks to Dr. Heunis, medical staff, ambulance and First Responders.

At Rob's request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, Rob's family asks that you do something, a good deed or acts of kindness in his honour.
