mercFORWEB

With great sadness we announce that Anne passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 13, 2009 at Bastion Place Hospice in Salmon Arm, at the age of 66. Anne is mourned by her devoted husband, Walter, her loving sons Grant, Scott and Craig (wife Lynda), her stepson Lance (wife Angel), her stepdaughter Lana, her sister Mollie, and her nieces Kelly (husband Sherman), and Heidi (husband Jim). She will be missed by her loving grandchildren Rebekah, Jack, Ella, and Alex, and her grand niece Eirashay.

Anne lived her entire life in B.C., from Cranbrook in the Kootenays, to Revelstoke in the forests of the Selkirks, Squamish on the Pacific Coast, Smithers and Houston in the Bulkley Valley, and retirement at Blind Bay in her beloved Shuswap.

She struggled with cancer for two years with dignity and grace, rarely complaining or feeling sorry for herself, trying to put the needs of others ahead of her own, and never losing her sense of humour.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 29, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Sorrento. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the North Okanagan Shuswap Brain Injury Society, at 250 Alexander St., Salmon Arm, V1E 4N8.
