NORRIS, CLIFFORD GORDON

February 15, 1920 - January 13, 2009Clifford Gordon Norris passed away on January 13, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Cliff is survived by his loving wife Betty, of fifty-eight years, and their four children; Jeannie, Ellie, Wayne and Gordon.

Born in Camrose, Alberta to Ernest and Rose Norris. Cliff had three sisters and one brother. Edna, the eldest and only surviving sibling, resides in Vancouver, BC.

Cliff was a World War II Veteran. Following the War, he attended UBC and obtained a bachelors degree in Agriculture, specializing in equipment and machinery. Cliff was a machinist by trade, and established a successful machine shop in North Kamloops. He took pride, in his own modest way, in the quality and success of his business. He was always hard working, honest, and fair. Cliff followed his passion for the outdoors, and was active in wildlife conservation. He enjoyed Irish Pub songs, Mario Lanza, Nelson Eddie and Johann Strauss. Cliff always enjoyed young people’s talent expressed through classical music.

Our best family times were at our wonderful summer place on the Shuswap Lake.

Dad worked hard and provided us with this place where fun and fond memories were made. Precious times were had with family and friends. Some of those memories are of Dad spending hours towing us, and anyone else that wanted to learn to water ski, behind his boat. Nighttime’s were spent around the beach fireplace talking and joking until the wee hours of the morning! We are all so grateful to you Dad. Thank you.

You will always be in our hearts.

No flowers please. Donations to the Chase & District Fish & Game Club, in memory of Cliff Norris, would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations can be sent to the Chase branch of the Interior Savings Credit Union at 814 Shuswap Avenue, Chase, B.C. V0E 1M0.
