Coby, born in Olds, Alberta March 19th, 1988, was suddenly and unexpectedly taken from us on February 23rd, 2012. He was raised on our farm for the first six years of his life where his lasting enjoyment and enthusiasm of the outdoors and sports activities were cultivated. Our family then moved to Salmon Arm, BC where he began to excel at hockey, golf, baseball, skateboarding (his favourite activity) and most of all his education. After graduating from Salmon Arm Senior Secondary in 2006 he continued to work for us at Carri’s Restaurant for the next year where he became a fantastic cook. At that time he decided to go to university at UBCO in Kelowna where he studied Business Management all the while working part time at restaurants like Earls, Cactus Club and the Okanagan Golf Course to help pay his way. In his spare time he enjoyed skateboarding, snowboarding, playing hockey and listening to and mixing the music he loved. In 2010 Coby met Brittany with whom he developed a very close relationship making him and everyone around him feel very happy that he had someone so special to him in his life. Coby will be fondly remembered for his wonderful smile and the way he made everyone around him laugh. He had hundreds of friends and was easily liked by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. He is survived by his parents, Lynne and Barry of Salmon Arm, his sister Breanne in Kelowna, girlfriend Brittany Murphy in Calgary as well as his aunts and uncles, Wayne Hammer - Calgary, Sandy (Bill) Brosnan - Australia, Heather (Chuck) Hansen - Newmarket, Randy (Linda) Cross - Medicine Hat, Julie (Norm) Roe - Red Deer, Jacquie (Dennis) Charlton - Cochrane, Greg Cross - Calgary in addition to numerous cousins as well as all of his many dear friends.

The memorial service will be held at the Shuswap Community Church (formerly the 1st Baptist Church) on Wednesday February 29th at 1:00pm with Pastor Myron Crown officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, 938 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver BC V5Z 4H4 or ALS Society of Canada, 3000 Steeles Avenue East, Suite 200, Markham, Ontario L3R 4T9 would be greatly appreciated.
