Colleen Eldridge Mounce passed away peacefully on December 4, 2021 at Salmon Arm, BC. She was born to Bill and Ethel Blackburn on August 17, 1933 in Salmon Arm, where she was raised. Colleen married Douglas Mounce on October 24, 1953. They moved to Revelstoke in 1962 where they later started their business, "Doug's Paint And Floor" retiring back to Salmon Arm in 2004. Colleen was a lifelong member of the Anglican Church, the Anglican Women's Guild and the Women's Institute. She believed strongly in giving back to her community and to those in need. Colleen loved her family and she enjoyed camping, travelling, sewing, knitting and gardening. Colleen was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Doug; her son, Herb; daughter-in- law Lorraine; great grandson, Soren; brothers Ed and Rob Blackburn, sister Barbe Mosher. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Wayne (Deb) Mounce, Sandy (Ron) Anglin and Jeff (Cori) Mounce; daughter in law, Sherry (Herb) Mounce; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; brothers Wilf and Lindsay Blackburn and adopted sister Elaine; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Due to Covid protocol, there will be a private family service on Saturday, December 11,, 2021 and her cremated remains will be interred in the family plot at Mount Ida Cemetery. A recording of Colleen's service will be posted early next week on her obituary at www.bowersfuneralservice.com
