Commander Charles Boyd C.D. Webb

It is with sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved husband Boyd in Salmon Arm, BC on Thursday September 15, 2016 at the age of 84 years.

Boyd was born to parents, Earl and Ruth in Macklin, SK on October 14, 1931. At a young age the family relocated to Vancouver, BC.

In 1950 Boyd joined the Royal Canadian Navy, his career spanned 35 years, he obtained the rank of Commander.

Boyd met Ida in 1950 and in 1953 they were married. Their son Lee Earl was born in 1963. The navy took the Webb family to appointments in the USA, England and many destinations across Canada.

Boyd enjoyed sports and was especially good at hockey, baseball and curling.

Boyd retired from the Navy in 1984 to Surrey, BC. Boyd and Ida later settled in Sorrento, BC.

He is predeceased by his parents and bother-in-law Bill.

Boyd will be forever loved and missed by his family, his wife of 63 years Ida his son Lee, sisters Mariann, Penny and Deborah (Dan), numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday October 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Anglican/United Church, Sorrento.

A reception will follow the service at the Cedar Heights Community Hall, (2316 Lakeview Drive, Sorrento, BC)
